Smriti met Captain Anshuman Singh during their college days, and they fell in love at first sight. They became friends and maintained a long-distance relationship for eight years. Later, they decided to get married and tied the knot on February 10, 2023.
Sadly, Captain Anshuman Singh was posted in Siachen shortly after their marriage. On the night of July 19, 2023, a fire broke out due to a short circuit in an Indian Army ammunition depot. Captain Singh has done extraordinary bravery by rescuing people but he suffered serious burns and injuries and lost his life.
